A new architectural definition to expose freely within partitions, similarly to notes in a musical score.
Showroom Smeg Baghdad
location: Baghdad, Iraq
client: Smeg
status: 2018 Built
collaborators: Riccardo Amarri, Alessandro Molesini, Alessandro Pitrelli, Noemi Prezioso
program: showroom and interior restyling
The project concerns the creation of a showroom entirely dedicated to SMEG through the restyling of the second floor of an existing commercial building. Since the building is positioned on an important road in Baghdad, the project also involved the restyling of the facade, defining its innovative and strong iconic character. The internal restyling of the showroom is based on the definition of open and flexible spaces, with paths that guide through the stylistic families of SMEG products, visually connected to each other with a strong characterization of the individual spaces and the overall image. The result has been a strong attention to detail, the introduction of materials that define a welcoming atmosphere, offering the best scenario to exhibit products with an innovative design, paying attention to aspects dear to the brand and related to Made in Italy: quality of details and technology with style. The restyling of the facade is based on the definition of vertical and horizontal bronze profiles that allow to display SMEG products freely within a defined partition, similarly to the notes in a musical score. All this contributes to the definition of an iconic and immediately recognizable form, albeit transparent and therefore attractive.
